In my opinion, I feel that this course was very repetitive to Enc1101. Enc1102 had far more amount of work that occupied my time outside of class. We also spent a large amount of time in class going over topics in the book which were things we learned in high school where as in enc 1101, we worked with examples that helped us form better papers versus re-learning what we already knew from high school and Enc1101. I also feel that in this class, the non-paper assignments hinder our overall averages. I have completed the majority of small assignments given and the few that I have not met the deadline on has seriously hindered my overall grade.
Work shopping in this class gives a great opportunity to touch base with the teacher and you receive great information to better shape my paper and better illustrate my points.
I feel that this class has overall improved my writing skills which make writing college papers for other classes an easier process.
Ryan is a great teacher to go to if I had any questions or if I ever needed anything, far better than my 1101 instructor as far as communication.

My argument in this paper is to lower the national drinking age from 21 to 18. I want to acknowledge the additional benefits that we currently do not have because the drinking age is at 21 such as personal safety. Many statistics are also added to support these claims. Since this class focuses on American culture, I wanted to make points in my paper that drinking and alcohol is a large part of our culture. I also acknowledge that many other European countries and the fact that they let persons drink at an age of 18 and the benefits that these countries experience having the drinking age at 18 rather than 21. Currently persons under 21 are prohibited from drinking in bars, restaurants, and other events which causes them to drink in unsupervised places; another persistent problem.  The controversy of Alcohol consumption for persons at the age of 18 versus 21 is a persistent dilemma in this country.
I make this argument by comparing and contrasting the costs and benefits of where the current drinking age is and where it should stand. In this paper I argue that the drinking age should be lowered to 18 years of age.Full Thesis Statement:The national drinking age should be lowered to 18 years of age for the following reasons; youth would drink in a more responsible manner, the drinking age set at 21 invades personal rights for persons over the age of 18, it would lower drinking over-consumption on college campuses, and would be a good move for the economy.

I am going to review Casons Blog post.

The primary source site offers an extreme amount of info on this topic as well as some very interesting facts on drinking statistics and laws that many Americans do not know about. These statistics and interesting facts also speak greatly about how our American culture has been formed.

The drinking age is a large political issue, especially when states go back and forth lowering and hiring the minimum drinking age. This also presents the issue that if the majority of teens are drinking regularly anyway, than why set a minimum age?

I retrieved this main source from when I did in internet library search of the negatives on teen drinking and where the drinking age should stand.

Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), "Underage Drinking and the 21 Minimum Legal Drinking Age (MLDA) Law," www.madd.org (Oct. 20, 2010)

Although many believe that anyone under the age of 21 is prohibited from consuming alcohol in the United States, underage drinking is allowed in 29 states if done in a private premiss with parental consent. 25 states also allow it for religious purposes and seven states allow it for educational purposes.

Between 1970 to 1976, 30 states lowered their Minimum Legal Drinking Age from 21 to 18, 19, or 20.

The enactment of The national minimum drinking age act of 1984 prompted states to raise their legal age for purchase or public possession of alcohol to 21 or risk losing millions in federal highway funds.

There are many powerful images that I have seen in my life, especially those that you have to think about to see. Like the other day I was in my dorm room and the sun was shining through the cracks of the blinds and the suns rays created a perfect cross with its light in the center of the door. I thought it was pretty coll. Many of the images or views that I see around me are god moments. However I also see a lot of other signs of things that may be coming up in the future. Just the way I can sense things or see things at the end of the day can let me know that the next day is going to be just as good as the present day or even better. The power of images and visions cal also be in dreams. This may sound a little bad but my roommate had been giving me a very hard time over the last few weeks of school but things escalated and he was caught with drug use in the dorms, I didn’t want to get in trouble as well so I was nervous and wanted him out. Yesterday he was removed from housing and I had seen that this was something that was going to happen and I would keep getting relieved and excited because he would get kicked out in my dreams. Its kind of like psychic that I knew he was going to leave but with all of the other problems, it looked as if his time was coming anyway.

My experiences with research assignments include constructing a fully documented research paper in both eleventh and twelfth grade. These term papers included lengthy research and were around ten pages each. One of my term papers was taking a book by an American author and then analyzing various aspects of their writing medium. My author was Joyce Carol Oates who wrote blind water. The book was about a drunk and irresponsible senator vacationing. This senator was drinking and driving with this girl he hooked up with and drove him and her off a bridge into black water. The senator was aware of his actions and did not want to get in trouble after making it out alive from the car as it submerged from the black water. The worst part was that the senator was too scared to help his drowning girlfriend and let her die. His actions illustrated that even people in high places can’t be trusted.
Writing is interesting to me but takes a lot of work. I feel as if I spend far too much time working and editing my papers because I am paranoid that they are awful. I like creative writing more than I like research oriented writing because I can express creativity rather than analyzing facts. I also feel that I have to spend much time working with information that I am not familiar with yet. Constructing research analysis can also be harder than writing on your own opinions, as well as the fact that you have to make sure you properly cite your sources.
